FASA's Lunar New Years Riso Prints

A comission by the Fine Arts Assossiation Alliance of Concordia for Lunar New Year celebration 2022!

Since the art piece is a riso print, there may only be a maximum of 4 colors. I first chose Yellow to reflect the beauty of the ochna integerrima, the yellow mai hoa mai vàng in Vietnamese, a vital component of Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year). The second color, red, symbolizes good fortune and compliments the striking yellow. Any other colors in between the two is a mix of the two in different opacity.

The finished project was printed out and given in red envelope to celebrate with any lucky passerbys!

Rebirth

First year of university through a digital screen was rather unpleasant. Yet it showed me all the opportunities I have missed due to my reserved nature. This piece symbolizes not only my own, but a new beginning for many of the students in the world following the pandemic.

Out Of Reach

My first ever digital drawing piece

Following the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, this digital painting was created in critique of the United States' flaws in their firearm regulations and laws. Obtaining a firearm for a minor is comparable to a child reaching for a jar of cookie in a tall cupboard.

Biodiversity Loss Posters

These three posters aim to raise awareness about biodiversity loss as we play god in our coexistence with the animal kingdom. This choice not only endanger species but to our own as well. Similar to a domino chain, human is merely one of the many pieces and we will collapse if the chain falters. By applying humanity’s egoism and interest in survival to the issue, the three design address the issue on a personal touch.

Godric Walk Cycle

Godric was made from the simple 2D concept drawing above. He was my first sculpture on blender. Thanks to previous experience in illustration, my subpar knowledge in human anatomy simplified and accelerated the sculpting process.

It was a great joy bringing him to life through tedious rigging and animating.

Homelessness: The Invisible

Experience now

At every metro station in Montreal lays a homeless man, sheltering away from the heat of summer or the winter cold. I researched and created a short, informative website.tackling the statistics of homelessness in Canada as well as the causes behind them. It also offers a unique experience that imitates a fraction of the sufferings that homeless people go through daily.

Tip: With your mouse, navigate through the end of the "Experience" page carefully to reveal hidden clue.
